Denton Freedom House - Program Details

Under the current policy there are essentially two phases of the Denton Freedom House program.

Phase 1 – Rooted and Established (180 days minimum)

Goals:
1.    Introduce the resident to Jesus, the only One who has the power to free him from the bondage of sin, death,
addiction, and oppression.
2.    Establish the resident in the areas of his understanding, character, and discipline.
3.    Give the resident the tools that he will need to live
victoriously the rest of his life.
4.    Impart a kingdom vision to the resident.
5.    Ground resident in the discipleship process and ignite resident to a lifestyle of service, worship, and evangelism.
6.    Prepare resident spiritually, emotionally, and financially for transition toward independence.
7.    Assign resident a discipler and an adopted family.

Requirements for graduation:
1.    Complete 180 minimum calender days in the home.
2.    Must have worked a minimum of 180 hours.
3.    Memorize the mission statement, discipleship model, and wheel illustration.
4.    Complete all of the core curriculum including the scripture reading plan, scripture memory plan, book reports, lessons, and prayer journal.
5.    Must have fulfilled any disciplinary requirements.


Phase 2 – Re-entry (up to six months)

Goals:
1.    Decide whether resident will transition out of home or move
toward service within the ministry.
2.    Help those in re-entry to transition out of the home.  Help meet
their needs of housing, employment, and transportation by
providing coordination with other social service agencies,
ministries, and the government; and possibly by providing
some monetary assistance.
3.    The resident will continue relationship with a discipler.
4.    Help the resident get established in a local assembly.
5.    Allow the resident to maintain the disciplines of the Christian life with accountability as an essential and with Christ as the focus of their lives.

Internship – (6 months – 1 year)

A phase II graduate from the Denton Freedom House who has been called to the ministry and is serving at the Denton Freedom House and who is in training to be full-time staff at the Denton Freedom House.

Goals:
1.    Will be committed to full-time ministry at the Denton Freedom House and will accept God’s call on their lives to serve, being loyal and dedicated to the ministry.

2.    They will discuss their commitment with the Home Director and will demonstrate that commitment each day by serving at the Denton Freedom House.
3.    Will have the responsibility to pray and “itinerate” (speak/preach/testify) as personal opportunities arise or on behalf of Denton Freedom House as requested by the Home Director.
4.    All interns will report to and be directly responsible to the Home Director.
5.    Room and board will be provided by the Denton Freedom House at no charge.  This will be in the form of three meals per day.  When on duty away from the home special arrangements will be made for meals. 
6.    Interns will be responsible for exercising proper fiscal responsibility over their own finances and have the greatest integrity possible while being good stewards of all God entrusts them to.
7.    Allow the resident to maintain the disciplines of the Christian life with accountability as an essential and with Christ as the focus of their lives.
